Sports Massage

A sports massage involves various massage techniques that mobilise & manipulate soft tissue and myofascial structures. You don't have to be an athlete to get the benefits from a regular session. This treatment can help prevent injury as well as managing current injuries, increase flexibility and helps to relax muscles. This type of massage can be used as part of a training schedule, pre and post event and to optimise performance. Any niggles, aches and pains? This massage is for you.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a subtle, relaxing holistic therapy that works on the principle that the feet and hands mirror all of your internal organs, glands and body structures.

Gentle pressure is applied with either thumbs, fingers or even hot stones to stimulate specifically defined reflex points in order to cause a healing effect on the corresponding part of the body. Reflexology is not a 'quick fix' treatment but when used consistently can have very positive results.

Hot Stone Reflexology

This treatment combines the benefits of a conventional treatment with hot stones to enable deeper stimulation of the reflex point for a relaxing and deeply rejuvenating experience.

Hot Stone Massage

Hot stone massage therapy is when hot  basalt stones which are heated in water are used to help your muscles relax, allowing the tissues to be manipulated more effectively.  It is estimated that one stroke of the stone is worth five strokes with the hand, thus this treatment is calculated to be five times deeper and lasts five times longer than a conventional treatment with the hands alone. A truly wonderful experience leaving you deeply relaxed and calm.

Indian head Massage

Indian head massage is based on the ancient Ayurvedic healing system which endeavours to restore balance to the body and mind. The aim is to release the stress that has accumulated in the tissues, muscles and joints of the head, face, neck and shoulders. This treatment is particularly good for stress, tension, fatigue, insomnia, headaches, migraine and sinitus. Clients report that the experience is deeply calming and relaxing, leaving them revitalised and able to concentrate and focus. Traditionally the treatment is performed on a chair, however the majority of people having this treatment find it more relaxing performed laying down but this is your preference.

Hopi Ear Candling (Thermal Auricular Therapy)

Hopi ear candling assists in the removal of blockages and excessive ear wax as well as working as a holistic therapy helping maintain emotional balance also. This treatment is performed in both ears and is followed by a relaxing pressure point massage to the face and ears. As the candle burns the sound from the candle creates a vibration that travels through the candle and penetrates the ear drum. In turn this vibrates the small bones of the inner ear creating a 'massaging' effect. The vibration pushes further on into the eustachian tubes and sinuses helping to release any blocked pressure. This treatment is detoxifying and may continue to work within the body for up to 48 hours after burning the ear candle.

*Not to be used if grommets are in place or if you have a perforated ear drum.
